Mabel Makun, the former spouse of Nigerian comedian Ayo Makun, celebrated her mother’s 40th birthday.
Mabel disclosed that she was scheduled to have a photo session with her mother for her 70th birthday later this year by posting a video of herself and her daughters wearing gold on her Instagram site. Sadly, she was unable to attend.
“Honouring my late mum today with this video. We were supposed to do this shoot with her for her 70th birthday this year, but unfortunately, she didn’t make it. We talked about it, we looked forward to it, and we were going to make something beautiful.
This particular grief doesn’t announce itself loudly; it just sits beside you on the biggest days of your life, quiet and heavy, reminding you of who is missing. We brought her, regardless. In every breath, every smile, every step we took in front of the lens, she was there, and she is always here. Happy 40th to me, and cheers to many more years in Jesus name!”.
