Roy Keane, a Manchester United star, has ordered the club to let go of goalkeeper David De Gea, while also criticizing teammates for posing with his Golden Glove award.
On Sunday, May 28, De Gea was presented with the Premier League’s ‘Golden Glove’ award at Old Trafford for having the most clean sheets this season, as United finished third overall.
Throughout United’s domestic campaign, the 32-year-old was able to shut out the opposition 17 times, three more times than Alisson of Liverpool, who finished in second place.
Keane wants the team to break off contact with the player who is currently in contract talks because he isn’t convinced enough.

“Manchester United had to improve defensively from last year because they were so bad,” Keane said on Sky Sports.
“They’re [United players] all patting De Gea on the back there…I’d move him on quickly. He wouldn’t be for me, he’s not going to get Manchester United back winning trophies, absolutely not.
“The idea that the players are patting him on the back is ridiculous, that’s his job,” he added.
Keane continued: “No, you wouldn’t keep him as a No. 2. He wouldn’t want that, he wouldn’t stay for that.
“He’s done okay, he’s won a few Player of the Year awards – but what big deal is that? It’s about what the team is achieving.
“I think he’s made far too many mistakes over the years. He was trying to leave the club a few years ago and go to Real Madrid.”
Ten Hag has recently stated that he is confident that a deal would be reached and that he is eager to try and lock the long-serving United goalkeeper down to a new contract.
De Gea has made more than 500 appearances since joining Manchester United in 2011 and has won the UEFA Europa League, three Community Shields, an FA Cup, two League Cups, and the Premier League.
