Osama bin Laden’s Son Ordered To Leave France

Due to his divisive social media remarks, Omar bin Laden, the son of the late Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, has received an order from French authorities to leave the nation.

The interior minister of France revealed this on Tuesday.

Born in Saudi Arabia, where he spent his early years, Omar bin Laden, 43, has also resided in Sudan and Afghanistan. At the age of 19, he moved away from his father and relocated in Normandy, in northern France, where he started painting in 2016.

Omar bin Laden had resided in the Normandy district of Orne as the husband of a British national, according to remarks made by Bruno Retailleau, the new interior minister of France, on X, the previous Twitter platform.

The minister said that the jihadist’s son “posted comments on his social networks in 2023 that advocated terrorism.”

“As a result, the prefect of Orne issued an order to leave French territory,” Retailleau said.

“The courts have confirmed the legality of this decision taken in the interests of national security,” he added.

The interior minister also said he had signed off on a ban preventing Omar bin Laden “to return to France for any reason whatsoever.”

He did not provide further details and it was not clear if Omar bin Laden had already left France.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
