Seun Kuti Pays Tribute To Legendary Father, Fela Kuti

Celebrity Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti has paid respect to his late father, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, on social media as it has been 27 years since his death.

Seun considered how Fela’s death in 1997 had continued to impact their lives on Instagram.

He recognized how Fela’s influence had grown as a result of his music, legacy, and mission.

Seun declared that every element of his music is an homage to Fela, expressing his love and dedication to his father’s legacy.

He acknowledged that he missed his father and reaffirmed that he will carry on Fela’s legacy.

He wrote: “Every year since you passed to the great beyond, your impact on our lives has continued to grow.

“Every note, every phrase, every dance, every song and every album is to show my love for you.

“I miss you! I play my sax for you dad, I live for your legacy and I am loyal to the mission. Love you big man more than words can express.”

As a Nigerian musician and activist, Fela Kuti fought against corruption, social injustice, and political oppression through his Afrobeat music. May his soul continue to rest in perfect peace.

Live with Purpose, Love with Passion. Remember to be happy

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
