A Place Of Rest And Peace

How do I strive to get to where God wants me to be; a place of rest and peace?

Hebrews 4:1-5,11
Mark 2:1-12

At the beginning of the second chapter of Mark, Jesus returned home to Capernaum and words quickly went around that he is back in less than no time the whole place was filled up with the crowd such that he would not rest. As he was preaching the word of God to them some people were tearing the roof to lay down a paralytic before him.
What a sight this must have been. These friends of the paralytic showed their love for him and believed that Jesus can heal him. It is like putting all eggs in a basket; having to take such a risk. Having friends that are believers and are encouraging one another to live a life of faith is a great thing. Faith in Christ is very important and those who oppose his commands do not believe him and accept him. We too can be amazed like the crowd who paid attention to his authority but our faith takes us toward friendship with Christ. The author of the letter to the Hebrews tells us that with the grace of God and our obedience of faith, we can strive and get to heaven. Faith in God and docility in the action of the Spirit in true obedience is what truly matters.
