The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, is optimistic about the completion of several Abuja road projects. The Abuja-Kuje Road, which had been delayed, is now expected to be completed by June 2026. Wike inspected the construction site and expressed satisfaction with the progress, stating that the contractor, Arab Contractors, has pledged to meet the new deadline.
Similarly, the Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to completing the Abuja-Keffi Road project by June 2026, with 42% completion achieved so far. The project is part of the larger Abuja-Lafia-Makurdi-Enugu-Port Harcourt route, aimed at enhancing regional connectivity and economic growth.
Wike emphasized that these road projects will transform the economic life and activities of the FCT, making it easier for people to commute and boosting trade. The government is working closely with contractors and stakeholders to ensure timely completion.
