Act Of Discipleship

Wednesday of week 31 in Ordinary Time

Philippians 2:12-18
Psalm 26(27):1,4,13-14
Luke 14:25-33

In today’s gospel , we observe Jesus conveying lessons through parables, clearly articulating the essence of discipleship. Each individual is called to embrace discipleship in Christ; however, this commitment necessitates specific obligations on our part.

It requires prioritizing Christ above all other aspects of life, including familial relationships. The journey of becoming a disciple is not without its challenges; therefore, one must consider this calling with due diligence. Ultimately, should one choose to respond to this invitation, the ensuing rewards will be significant.

If Jesus were to pose the question today of leaving all behind to follow Him, what would prove most challenging to relinquish? May divine grace cleanse our hearts, ensuring that our attachments do not hinder our pursuit of Him. Amen.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
