Air Peace Signs Contract To Become Nigeria’s No 1 National Team Sponsor

Air Peace Signs Contract To Become Nigeria’s No 1 National Team Sponsor

The Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, and Air Peace signed a renewable endorsement deal today.

Air Peace will be the official airline sponsor of the country’s national teams as a result of the deal.

The sponsorship arrangement, which lasts for four years, can be renewed each year. The agreement, according to stakeholders, is timely because it comes before Nigeria’s World Cup qualifiers against Liberia, Cape Verde, and the Central African Republic.

The President of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, Amaju Pennick, claimed at the signing event in Lagos that the “first agreement” is worth N300 million and includes further incentives for the country’s national teams.

Pinnick was joined at the signing event by Super Eagles stars, Alex Iwobi, Tyreke Ebuehi, Oghenekaro Etebo, and Joe Aribo.

He said the agreement was timely as Nigerian players will fly on the airline’s brand new Embraer E195 to the Cape Verde match.

“We are happy because Air Peace epitomizes unity, Air Peace epitomizes warmness, Air Peace epitomized humanity, Air Peace epitomizes nationality and Air Peace is all about 100% safety,” Pinnick said.

“We have been approached by many international airlines but we believe in this brand that is now established.

”What we have signed and what we have we will protect it and we will manage it and our dream has always been to be fully independent and with these and other signings we will get there.”

Barrister Allen Onyema, Chairman of Air Peace, responded by saying it has always been his ambition to contribute and to assist national teams such as the Super Eagles.

“We are investing so much in this sponsorship and partnership in these sinister times because we want to restore hope to the country. We believe in Nigeria and the Nigeria project. People are losing hope in the country. But I believe in the greatness of the country,” Onyeama explained.

“Nigeria is the envy of other nations and I believe we can all contribute in our ways to make it great. The Super Eagles are the symbol of our unity. When they are playing, we forget our differences and cheer them as one. We forget where we come from; whether we are Igbos, Hausa, Yoruba, Ijaw, Kanuri, etc becomes secondary”.

He then charged the Super Eagles with keeping the Nigerian dream and hope alive by “going to Cape Verde and trouncing them and eventually qualifying for the world cup in Qatar”.

“A lot of companies have chosen to downsize, and maybe that was the right thing for them. We chose a different path. Our belief was that if we kept putting great products in front of customers, they would continue to open their wallets.”
