Antonio Rudiger To Exit Chelsea At The End Of The Season

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed rumours that Antonio Rudiger intends to leave the London club, with Real Madrid and other clubs interested.

Antonio Rudiger last played for Chelsea in a 2-0 FA Cup semi-final victory against Crystal Palace and will now leave the club after the two parties were unable to come to an agreement on a new contract.

According to rumours, the 29-year-old German international will go as a free agent, with Spanish giants Real Madrid leading the race to sign him.

Tuchel, speaking after his side’s 1-0 win over West Ham on Sunday, said, “The situation seems to be that he’ll leave the club. He informed me some days ago in a personal talk.

“I have the feeling that we gave everything over many months, me personally and also the club. Now we’ve entered a situation where we cannot fight anymore because of the sanctions, and yes, Toni said he will leave the club.”

Fabrizio Romano also confirmed Rudiger’s exit from the club saying, “Antonio Rüdiger will leave Chelsea on a free transfer as he can’t wait more than 2 months for new owners. No bid on the table. He’s always been respectful – but it’s time for a new challenge. It’s over. Real Madrid are close to finding an agreement to sign Rüdiger.”
