In a dramatic turn of events, a viral video has sparked widespread concern, alleging that a presidential chef was apprehended for plotting to poison President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. However, the Presidency has swiftly stepped in to debunk these claims, labeling the report as nothing more than sensational fake news.
The circulated video claimed that an urgent incident within the walls of the Presidential Villa prompted the intervention of a specialized police squad, alongside heightened security measures. According to the video’s narrator, unnamed security sources pointed to alarming intelligence regarding food preparation in restricted areas connected to the President’s operations.
The narrator painted a picture of urgency, stating that authorities acted rapidly upon receiving credible reports of a potential threat to the President’s safety. This led to an extensive investigation involving skilled security personnel dedicated to safeguarding the nation’s leadership.
In gripping detail, the footage claimed that a kitchen staff member was taken into custody for questioning as investigators scrutinized evidence linked to the supposed poisoning attempt. Viewers were urged to remain calm, with security agencies promising that the investigation was ongoing and that all allegations should be treated with caution until due process could take its course.
Despite the alarming narrative, the Presidency wasted no time in addressing the turmoil. On Sunday, Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, firmly dismissed the claims, asserting, “No Aso Rock kitchen staff has been arrested. There is absolutely no truth to the notion that someone attempted to poison President Tinubu. Please ignore this misleading video.”
Onanuga reiterated that there had been no incident associated with the kitchen staff at the Presidential Villa, and emphasized the importance of skepticism in the face of such shocking allegations. As the rumors swirled, the Presidency urged the public to stay informed and rely on verified information rather than sensationalized claims.
