Blessed Cyprian Michael Iwene Tansi, Priest – Feast

Philippians 2:1-11
Isaiah 12
Matthew 13:44-46

Today, the Nigeria’s Church honors Fr. Michael Cyprian Iwene Tansi, born in Aguleri and died in Leicester. As a priest and monk, he devoted himself to prayer, service, and humanity.

St. John Paul II said, “Father Tansi is an inspiration to everyone in Nigeria…a man of God…praying and sacrificing for sanctification.” Prayer was his source of happiness and love, helping him encounter Jesus profoundly.

God hears our prayers, especially for the poor. Tansi models a virtuous life, showing that our relationship with God affects eternal life. Sacrifices make us more selfless and reliant on God.

Material treasures are temporary; focus on treasures in Heaven with Christ. If Tansi can lead a saintly life, we too are called to dedicate ourselves to God, offering Him ourselves and making our nation and world a better place.
