This revealed the suspect leaving a property on Laleham Road, Hither Green, and walking to the scene, then going back there shortly after.
After focusing their attention on individuals entering and leaving the residence, the officers noticed a guy who would later be identified as Marcus Adepoju leaving the house to go to a storage facility in nearby Forest Hill.
During a search of the unit, knives, cash, drugs, ammo, and firearms were found. They discovered that more ammo, money, and drugs were recovered in a different storage site they connected to Adepoju.
Officers stopped Adepoju in a car in Chingford and discovered he was in possession of a bag containing a big set of keys. These were keys to the residence on Laleham Road and two storage containers.
Forensic investigations of one of the recovered guns linked it to both the shooting and another event in March 2023, when a bullet hole was discovered in a lorry in Forest Hill. Adepoju’s DNA was also discovered on both guns.
His phone was also examined, revealing many photographs of a third handgun.
At a previous hearing, Adepoju entered a guilty plea to three counts of handgun possession, money laundering, possession with intent to provide class A drugs, and possession of bladed objects.
He was convicted of three counts of attempted murder, possessing a gun and ammunition with the intent to endanger life, and one additional count of possessing class A drugs with the intent to supply them.
Following a police search of his Laleham Road home, Francis Ajeigbe, 60, was taken into custody and charged with money laundering and possession of class A drugs with the intent to supply.
Ajeigbe received a sentence of two years in prison with a one-year suspension.
A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
