Sheriff Egbo Ally, a 40-year-old ‘businessman’ from Madrid, Spain, was arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, NAIA, Abuja while attempting to board an Air France flight to Paris, France, after NDLEA agents discovered he had ingested illicit drugs.

According to a statement released by Femi Babafemi, the anti-drug agency’s spokesperson, Egbo, the businessman was arrested on Saturday, October 14th, after a body scanner revealed he had wraps of illicit drugs in his stomach.

‘’He was subsequently placed under observation at the Agency’s exhibit recovery room where he excreted 93 pellets of heroin weighing 2.222 kilograms. In his statement, the suspect claimed he works at a chicken hatchery farm in Madrid, Spain and also into the drug trafficking business,” the statement read.

The lid was blown open, however, thanks to the collaboration and real-time intelligence-sharing mechanisms between the NDLEA and its Liberian counterpart.
