Do You Acknowledge God’s Authority Over You?

Samuel 8:4-7,10-22
Mark 2:1-12

When God created man, he gave him authority over all creatures that authority comes from God so that man in turn will use the same authority to govern the earth in goodness and righteousness but when Adam and Eve committed sin they disobeyed the law and authority of God and that goes to all humanity whenever we sin we rupture our relationship with God and disobey his authority and will. We must always acknowledge God’s authority first. The people of Israel wanted an earthly king, they wanted to be like other nations. Consequently, they refused the way God was ruling and ruling them. They wanted the way of the world rather than the way God had laid down for them and yet out of all the Kings that ruled Israel we have just a few good men.

Jesus taught with authority but he also wants to heal us from sin and disease. He has power over all. As he was teaching a paralytic man was brought by his friends on a stretcher. They made their way through the rooftop and lowered him down. Jesus knew those surrounding him and said, ‘ which is easier to forgive or to heal. Only God can alleviate our suffering. Our sufferings, he bore. Our sins he carried. Only Jesus can teach us the way to salvation if we follow him closely.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
