Do You Observe The Law?

Colossians 1:21-23
Luke 6:1-5

In our very eyes, It seems to be a small issue, the nibbling disciples rubbing the grain and eating it on the Sabbath but for the Pharisees that is a grave matter. The Lord made the Sabbath as a day of rest; a day of kindness to the tired animals, the working men, and an opportunity to extend charity to strangers and travelers. With the return to Jerusalem after the Babylonian exile, the tradition was developed and many laws of observances were introduced and promulgated with a “special parallel observance of delight, not a burden” present by its devotees and defenders Pharisees.
At this time grew also the synagogues which complimented the Sabbath day with study and prayer. So we can see the level at which the Pharisees where asking Jesus why could he would allow his disciples to do such a thing?

Tradition changes but the Lord who created times and seasons and they obey him is the Lord of the Sabbath. More importantly, the Bible tells us, “God loves the upright and the upright has God for his help.” He has God for his answer. If we follow the spirit of the law devotedly without biases or because it suits us at a point, that is, loving God and our neighbor, then we are faithful in our observance of the law for knowledge of the law is different from understanding it. The Lord will guide our steps as his children from falling into the traps of the wicked ones. Even though you walk in the valley of darkness, the Lord will raise your spirit to the hill of Calvary for he is the Lord of the Sabbath.
