Fresh Graduate Killed By Boko Haram After Collecting His Result

Baba Alaji, a fresh graduate of the University of Maiduguri, was among three civilians slain when suspected Boko Haram militants assaulted military trucks escorting motorists along the Gwoza-Limankara-Uvaha road in Borno State’s Gwoza local government area.

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2023, when military and civilian JTF were providing security for passengers travelling to Gwoza, Askira-Uba LGA in Borno, and northern areas of Adamawa State.

According to accounts, the terrorists also set fire to five commercial vehicles, including a security patrol vehicle, and a large number of motorists and passengers were either abducted or went missing.

According to reports, Alaji travelled to UNIMAID on Friday, September 23, to pick up his result statement and was on his way back the next day when terrorists assaulted motorists.

After a funeral prayer at the University of Maiduguri central mosque on Sunday morning, September 24, the deceased was laid to rest at Grange cemetery.
