Give With Love And Help To Those In Need

Romans 15:14-21
Luke 16:1-8

Today the Church celebrates one of the greatest Pope in the history of the Church thus far. Someone that understands true leadership –Pope Leo the great. He.was a true shepherd and pastor of souls.. He defended the unity of the Church and also the invasion He wrote a lot of pastoral letters and encouraged everyone to serve God in love, humility, and thanksgiving.

We have been reading for quite some time now for our first reading the apostolic exhortation of St. Paul to the Roman Christian communities. There is a great zeal and an eagerness in his writing to witness and preach the gospel of Christ to the ends of the earth. Paul was successful because of the love and passion he had for Jesus who called him and forgave his wickedness against Christians. We have the same call as he did: to love Jesus with all of our hearts and minds and strength and to proclaim Jesus Christ to all humanity. That was truly his primary aim. For him, living in the Spirit is to count everything that has been lost because Christ is gain. Thus, the Christian life demands the courage to go against the tide, to love like Jesus, who even went so far as to sacrifice Himself on the Cross, that is what it is.

The steward in today’s parable went at all cost to secure his office an position. It is a reminder that all of our wealth or possessions including our talents are gifts from God. We must be good stewards of them. That means we ought to use them for the good of all and for the glory of God. The man or woman who is serving God cannot serve another master – whether it be money or anything else upon which we place our trust. We are in a money-craving world and people can do anything whatsoever to acquire wealth; theft, fraud, magic, robbery, kidnapping, assassination, ritual killings, terrorism, wars, etc. All these evil ways are the ways that affects our present society. They lead to doom.

Let us remember that God has given us a privilege as servants to enter into His divine life. Let us remind ourselves the stewardship and responsibilities placed on our shoulders as children of God in any given position or location we find ourselves. Let us serve the living God with all our might, with all our mind, with all our body and with all our soul.

“No-one, however weak, is denied a share in the victory of the cross. No one is beyond the help of the prayer of Christ.”-St. Leo the Great -pray for us. Amen
