God’s Resource

God sometimes works in ways that we don’t fully understand. When we ask God for help in a trying circumstance, He makes use of the resources that is at our disposal.

This resource, which has been divinely provided as God’s gift to us in trying times, may go completely unnoticed by us. It may take weeks, months, or even years, but everything will burst into splendor at the perfect time when the Lord’s presence transforms it into a potent instrument of His salvific action.

We already know about the wealthy Shunammite woman who fed and housed Elisha whenever he came to visit. Despite her wealth, she struggled. Unhappy and childless. God provided her needs with the resource (Elisha) at her home . Elisha predicted that the woman will give birth to a son during the next year, and Elisha’s prediction came true when the mother gave birth to a son. And God works an even greater miracle in her life and the life of the child by utilizing this very same resource.

God frequently reveals His true nature by acting in ways that defy logic. Most of the time, He doesn’t reveal His door until just before he opens it. When it’s all said and done, we’ll realize that God was there with us before we even realized it.”
