Group Of Boko Haram And ISWAP Terrorists Surrender To The Nigerian Army

The Nigerian Army has released the names and locations of Boko Haram and Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) militants who surrendered earlier this month, according to the military.

Hundreds of terrorists surrendered themselves between August 2 and August 4, according to Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Public Relations, in a statement released on Monday morning.

The official stated that the development has raised concern in the camps of the sects in the country.

Following the evacuation of top commanders and foot soldiers, the army claims that the jihadist groups’ size and fighting efficiency have been significantly reduced.

On the 14th of August, Nwachukwu stated that more fighters had surrendered with their families in the Mafa Local Government Area.

At forwarding Operating Base (FOB) Ajiri, troops from Operation HADIN KAI were able to apprehend a total of 186 people, including 67 adult males, 54 adult females, and 65 children.

They submitted some AK 47 guns, ammo, a locally constructed pistol, and eight locally manufactured daggers, all under the leadership of their Amir, Manye Aga.

On the 15th of August, the Theatre Command acquired charge of a new batch of fighters, which included four adult males, eleven adult females, and eighteen minors.

They marched from the villages of Landanli, Azah, Ngaridua, and Kondilla to the forces of the 151st Task Force Battalion at Banki Junction in Bama.

The military has seen that the ISWAP has chosen propaganda through the AMAQ Terrorists Media Wing in order to show itself as a formidable force in the North-East.

According to the statement: “ISWAP is yet to come to terms with the reality of its current predicament, which has posed serious negative impact on its processing.”

According to the Daily Post, around 1,500 terrorists and their families have surrendered in the previous four months alone.
