Gunmen K!ll Newly Married Man, Abduct His Wife And 7 Others In Zamfara

Armed individuals believed to be bandits have murdered a recently married man, Mohammed Sani Maru, and abducted his new wife along with seven others in the Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

A resident of Maru town, Ahmad Umar, who spoke to journalists in Gusau, revealed that the bandits stormed Maru town on Sunday night, October 5, 2025, and targeted the newlywed couple’s home with the intent to kidnap both the man and his wife.

He explained that the bandits made every effort to force the groom to their hideout, but he resisted being abducted, which Umar stated led the bandits to shoot him in the head, resulting in his immediate death.

The bandits attempted to kidnap the groom (Mohammed Sani), but he stood firm against being taken. I was listening when they asked him to ride on one of the motorcycles, but he insisted that he would not go with them,” he added.

“When the bandits noticed that he was not ready to obey their instructions, one of them shot him, and he d!ed instantly,”

He further noted that the bandits kidnapped the groom’s newlywed wife and seven other individuals, including four men and three women.

Maru town has been plagued by bandits’ attacks for several years now, and it remains one of the local government headquarters in the state that has been severely impacted by bandits’ activities.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
