Have Faith In The Risen Lord

Acts 5:17-26
John 3:16-21

In today’s first reading, Peter and the apostles are imprisoned for speaking about Christ. This time, they are miraculously set free and go immediately to the Temple where they again preach openly about Jesus. Today’s text ends with Peter giving witness in the Jewish supreme court to the resurrection of Christ.

In the gospel, Jesus is telling Nicodemus that He was sent into the world because of the Father’s great love for His creation and that salvation awaits those who believe in Him. We are called not only to have belief in the Lord just as Peter and the apostles had but also to let that faith be seen by those with whom we come into contact.

Today, the world is still darkened by wickedness and sin, but the light of Christ has destroyed death forever and we belong to the light because through baptism we become children of the light, the children of the Resurrection. We will live forever and through confession of our sins, we restore our relationship with the Father and through the grace of God we receive him as the food of immortality, food for the journey as he had given mere mortals the role of a priest to call upon his name in all the sacrament and prayers offered to God the Father through the Holy Spirit

How have you shown your faith in the Risen Lord? Do you secretly profess your faith when no one else is around? Are you willing to come into d light and boldly share your relationship with Jesus, trusting that God will take care of you? May God give us the grace to continue to grow in our faith relationship with the Risen Lord and may the presence of the Holy Spirit allow us to boldly profess our faith. Amen.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
