Hiding A Lighted Lamp

Hiding A Lighted Lamp

In today’s gospel,Jesus warned against hiding a lighted lamp under a. bushel, basket, bed ( I presume hiding it under the bed looks really dangerous) cellar or any secret place. Mark 4:21; Matthew 5:15; Luke 8:16; Luke 11:33.

In particular, the reading from Mark today asks us if we have a lamp, do we hide it or put it on a table so the light can illuminate everything around it? We must allow the light of Christ to enter into your lives and shine brightly for all to see. His teachings lead us through, and with, His light of wisdom, peace and hope.

But what do those who choose to stay in the darkness have? Nothing but darkness, so deeply buried are they that they see no light of hope. When we remain in the dark we make a choice to be far from God who is light. However, God who knows our worth try to unveil our sin which covers us from entering into His blessed light. The choice is ours.

If we continue to study God’s word, not for the purpose of memorization, but to obtain just a bit of God’s infinite wisdom, to understand and apply those bible stories of good people into our lives and to the lives of others, we are exposed to a light so bright that nothing can extinguish it, and those around us can shine as well!

We must focus on the prayers for the Pope and all our religious leaders. Let us also pray for the sharing of this faith we take ownership of, so rich in its divine beauty and awesomeness. God tells us when it is our time to shine out our message to others, whatever that message may be. Let us share the message of faith, hope and love.

What is your message to share that is coming from the light of God? ….

Speak Lord your servant is listening…, you have the message of eternal life.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
