House Of Rep’s Spokesman Hails Gov Ikpeazu On Infrastructural Progress In Abia State

Hon Benjamin Kalu, the spokesman for the Nigerian House of Representatives and a senior member of the All Progressive Congress (APC), has given Governor Okezie Ikpeazu a pass on the state’s growth.

Kalu praised Ikpeazu for his dedication to the advancement of Made In Aba items in a statement provided to DAILY POST on Sunday in Umuahia, the state capital while analyzing the gains recorded by the state in the last thirty years since her formation.

In the hallowed chamber, the member, who represents Bende Federal Constituency, also praised Ikpeazu’s ability to harness and nurture the state’s resources in growing important aspects of Abia’s economy.

Aba nicknamed the “Japan of Africa,” has long been known as Africa’s commercial hub for its inventiveness in the manufacturing of products ranging from fabrics to footwear, according to Kalu.

By patronizing Made in Aba products, the lawmaker further rallied support from citizens, local and foreign business investors.

He stated that, while Abia may not have made visible progress in recent years, the state has outperformed expectations in terms of education, industrial growth, and social harmony.

Kalu charged state leaders, regardless of political affiliations, to work together to push Abia forward in all areas.

The spokesman urged the Abia government to reach out to the state’s stakeholders, including past and present leaders at all levels of government, as well as individuals who have excelled in various sectors of society, to build synergy and strategize on the state’s problems to come up with workable solutions that will ensure the state’s success.

According to him, some Nigerian states have experimented with this model, with positive outcomes visible in their performance and productivity.

The spokesman, on the other hand, urged the state administration to pay particular attention to the state’s civil servants, who are a key factor in any government’s progress or failure.
