Saturday of week 33 in Ordinary Time
Rev. 11:4-12
Ps.143(144):1-2,9-10
Luke 20:27-40

In the Gospel passage for today, we observe Jesus being questioned by the Sadducees, a Jewish religious sect that does not advocate the belief in the resurrection of the body. He asserts that God is not a deity associated with the dead, but rather one who is concerned with the living.
This statement implies that although individuals may experience physical death in this life, a part of their existence continues eternally. The Sadducees rejected this notion as they had not fully embraced the teachings within the scriptures and were skeptical of the resurrection.
Their narrative involving a woman with seven husbands serves as a reminder of Sarah, the wife of Tobias. We have the assurance of Christ regarding life after death, alongside the promise of eternal life for those who place their trust in Him and acknowledge the commitments He has made. The question arises: do you believe in Jesus’ promise? It is imperative that we disseminate the Good News freely so that all who believe in Him may attain salvation.
May we seek divine assistance in focusing on Him and recalling the numerous promises He has made concerning blessings in the past, present, and future. Amen.
Wishing you God’s blessings and protection.
