President of CNN; Jeff Zucker has announced his resignation after investigations into host Chris Cuomo revealed that he failed to disclose the relationship with senior executive Allison Gollust, with who he’s worked for more than 20 years.
56yrs old CNN president; Jeff Zucker who is considered to be one of the most powerful figures in media and 49yrs old Allison Gollust, executive vice president and chief marketing officer for CNN Worldwide, both began dating when the two were colleagues at NBC. Both left that network around the same time in late 2010.

Zucker divorced his wife of 21 years in 2018 after reportedly ‘growing apart’. Gollust, who lives in the same Manhattan apartment building on East 61st St on the Upper East Side, is also divorced.
In an email sent to CNN staff on Wednesday and tweeted by CNN media correspondent, Brian Stelter, Zucker said: ‘As part of the investigation into Chris Cuomo’s tenure at CNN, I was asked about a consensual relationship with my closest colleague, someone I have worked with for more than 20 years.
‘I acknowledged the relationship evolved in recent years. I was required to disclose it when it began but I didn’t. I was wrong.’
Zucker did not name his colleague in the memo, but the relationship is with the chief marketing officer for CNN.
Gollust said she will remain at the network and confirmed the affair in a statement released to the New York Times on Wednesday.

‘Jeff and I have been close friends and professional partners for over 20 years,’ she wrote. ‘Recently, our relationship changed during Covid. I regret that we didn’t disclose it at the right time. I’m incredibly proud of my time at CNN and look forward to continuing the great work we do every day.’
In 2017, Zucker and Gollust were seen in a heated argument at the Hollywood Reporter’s 35 Most Powerful People in NY Media party.
A source explained at the time that while the party was taking place, Zucker and Gollust suddenly started speaking intensely and making anguished hand gestures before Gollust stormed away into the crowd.
‘It looked like she was reprimanding her husband or something,’ mocked an unnamed rival news executive at the time.
Zucker and his wife Caryn divorced three years ago after 21 years of marriage, Page Six reported at the time.
A source told the outlet: ‘It can’t be easy being married to Jeff – he is a workaholic and is obsessed with the news, and obsessed with being the best. Caryn is much more laid back and social, spends a lot of time with their kids, and enjoys being part of the Upper East Side social circuit.
‘They’ve had their problems over the years. Things have been bad for 10 years, but they have now accepted their marriage is over, and he has moved out of their apartment.’
Before joining CNN, Zucker took over NBC’s Today show at age 26 and ‘reinvented the historic news program,’ his online bio said. He served as previously worked as the company’s chief executive.
Zucker is also co-founder of Hulu. He has a net worth of $60million and earned $6million per year at CNN, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
