Jennifer Lopez Rocks A 45kg Dress In New Film ‘Marry Me’

Jennifer Lopez Rocks A 45kg Dress In New Film ‘Marry Me’

Jennifer Lopez is probably the only star to well, unofficially say ‘I Do’ in a 45kg wedding dress.

The actress who stars in the newly released Kat Coiro directed romcom ‘Marry Me’, reportedly wore an encrusted, ball gown wedding dress weighing 45kg for her on-screen nuptials.

The dramatic dress required at least five people to transport it and an entourage to help Lopez get in and out of it.

According to designer Caroline Duncan, the rose gold gown had “nine layers constructed of silk taffeta, horsehair, and tulle.” It also had crystals, ruffles, intricate embroidery, and layers of lace to add to the overall heft of the wedding gown.

Duncan added that the dress played an integral part of the movie, which sees Lopez’s character get engaged to a stranger played by Owen Wilson when a high-profile proposal goes wrong.

First, you see her get into the car, and it’s a symbol of how that wedding had gotten too big, and it wasn’t honest and has taken over her ability to see who she was marrying,” Duncan reveals.

Later, you see her in the bedroom alone on what should have been her wedding night, and here she is trapped in this claustrophobic dress that’s like the concert — bigger than she is. It’s the loneliest shot in the movie.”

The film currently showing in cinemas, follows global superstar Kat ( Jennifer Lopez) as she plans to tie the knot onstage to singer fiancé Bastian (Maluma) while performing their hit duet.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
