Jesus Christ Is The Passover Lamb

MAKE JESUS WHO IS THE LORD OF THE SABBATH, THE LORD IN EVERYTHING YOU THINK, DO, OR SAY AND YOU WILL FIND REST IN HIM.

Exodus 11:10-12:14
Matthew 12:1-8

The Passover is the greatest feast of the people of Israel. It recalls to mind, the great intervention of God’s power to deliver his people Israel from slavery to the promised land. Israel is named by God Himself and He has set them apart to worship Him at Mount Sinai so as to share a covenantal relationship with Him.

At an appointed time, God sent Moses and Aaron to deliver them and instruct them starting from this memorable event. The feast marks their identity. They were to carry out some basic instructions and rituals given to them by God in perfect obedience to Him. The Passover is a sign of God’s mercy and compassion over the people of Israel.

The Passover is also considered a foretaste of what the Messiah shall come to fulfill. Jesus came into the world to teach us how to obey God. He is the Passover lamb sacrificed once for us. He says to the Pharisees who were criticizing His disciples for working on Sabbath by removing the ears of the corn rather than look at their hunger, ‘I desire mercy not sacrifice’. Obedience is better than sacrifice. Obedience to God and our works of mercy makes us fulfilled. The works of mercy today are so uncommonly practiced.

On the contrary, our world today is predominantly wicked and sinful. There are people who consider themselves to be above the law whereas the law is binding on everyone. Those in charge of civil affairs take advantage of their subjects. Injustice and corruption of different kinds are smeared everywhere .Religious violence from all sides in the name of serving God is destroying humanity and what binds us together.

The spirit of the law, therefore, calls us to love, to be merciful, and to be faithful just like our master Jesus Christ, for Him alone can give us the rest we need in this life and the world beyond. As we call upon the name of the Lord today may He rescue us from evil and may He continue to shower His blessings upon us.
Amen

Today's Quote

“A lot of companies have chosen to downsize, and maybe that was the right thing for them. We chose a different path. Our belief was that if we kept putting great products in front of customers, they would continue to open their wallets.”
