The Nigerian Army’s 6 Brigade, operating under Operation Whirl Stroke and Operation Zafin Wuta, has arrested Umar Musa Geyi, a suspected kidnapper, in Wukari, Taraba State. Geyi was apprehended while negotiating a N20 million ransom with relatives of Alhaji Jano, a Fulani resident kidnapped on November 13, 2025.

Geyi, believed to be part of a kidnapping syndicate, had been on the security agencies’ wanted list. The troops intercepted him during a phone conversation, confirming the victim’s captivity and demanding the ransom.

The Commander of the 6 Brigade, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended the troops for their professionalism and reaffirmed their commitment to dismantling criminal networks in Taraba State.

The suspect is currently in custody, undergoing interrogation to aid efforts to locate and rescue Alhaji Jano.
