In a shocking turn of events, the Lagos State Police have apprehended and detained Habeeb Hamzat, known as ‘Peller,’ following a viral video that emerged on Sunday, December 14, 2025. The footage captured Peller engaging in reckless and dangerous driving while live-streaming the act, leading to a severe collision and putting his life, as well as the lives of other road users, in jeopardy. This reckless behavior amounts to a troubling attempt at self-harm and poses a significant threat to the public.
The investigation is now in the hands of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID). The results of this inquiry will be made public, and Peller will face charges in a court of law, ensuring accountability for his actions.
Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has issued a stern warning to social media influencers, content creators, and the public at large: Reckless, dangerous, or unlawful acts will not be tolerated on these platforms. The police are committed to upholding the law, and any offenders will face the full brunt of legal consequences.
