Little Faith Large Fears

Little Faith Large Fears: Why are you terrified, O you of little faith?”

Am 3:1-8; 4:11-12

Mt 8:23-27

Once again, Jesus has to chastise the disciples for their seeming lack of trust and faith in him!  In retrospect, we really are not any different from the disciples in this regard! The scriptures are filled with the good news that Jesus is all about love, goodness, faith, trust, forgiveness.  He always has our back even when we don’t want to believe it.  It’s easy to trust in his goodness and love for us when things are going the way we want them to be.  But, the first little storm that comes our way we get all up in arms and cry “ WHY?” and fall into despair!

As followers of Christ., we have to be ready to stand by his promises no matter what. We all have a story to tell. The storms of life will test our faith but we must place our trust in God even when it seems as if God is asleep.
Christ became our mediator and the perfect high priest by laying down his life for us through obedience to the Father. He bore our sins out of compassion, love and mercy.

St. Ireneaus, in his treatise against heresies, said that Christ the Eternal Word of life, “revealed God to men and presented men to God”.This is a perfect description of the powerful position and the intercession role that Christ plays before God our Father. He gives us every opportunity to change. May we continue to walk in faith with the sure and certain hope that God walks with us!  Amen.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
