GOD’S GRACE IS BEYOND BOUNDARIES

Some Jewish people in Our Lord’s time had trouble accepting His idea that His message was for all people, not just for the Jewish people. They believed that the Jewish nation was superior to all others and that God favored them.

They found it hard to accept that faith could be found outside of Israel. Similarly, as Christians, we might feel uncomfortable when people suggest that all religions are the same or that Christianity is just one of many paths.

It is important to remember that God’s grace works beyond the boundaries of the Church. While we in the Church are bound by certain practices, God’s grace is not limited by these boundaries. However, this does not change the basic beliefs of Christianity, which holds that Christ is the truth and that His truth is found in its fullness in the Catholic Church.

It is necessary to understand that Judaism was how God prepared the world for Christ, and the history of the chosen race is central to this plan. There is no place for anti-Semitism in the Christian life, and we should take pride in being part of this noble ancestry.

When Christ came, it represented something new, unique, and unrepeatable. His birth, life, death, and resurrection marked an end to other options and presented certainties and absolutes. Since the coming of Christ, salvation has been found through Him alone.
