Motherhood: A concerned Busy Mom: ” Am I Being Selfish if I Take Care Of Myself?5

Hello, Great Mothers!

Working mothers are superwomen who juggle jobs and home life effortlessly. But they often forget about taking care of themselves. According to a report, a greater percentage of busy mums dedicate most of their leisure time to taking care of their kids and family. Busy mums often push their own needs into the background. Mothers believe that they must cater to everyone first, all responsibilities must be handled first before they take care of themselves. If there is no time for self-care, so be it.

This is the reason why so many mothers, especially busy ones, are frustrated, unhappy, and stressed and they nag a lot. This hurts their relationship with their spouses, even their children. This is because they hardly spend time with their spouses and children to relax, communicate, and play. And all these are essential for a healthy relationship.

The truth is that everyone needs to take care of themselves in some way or another. Yes, mothers have so many responsibilities but we still have to take care of ourselves to stay healthy. No one can function well under stress.

As a busy mum, you can still take care of yourself. Some of the steps you can take as a busy mum to take care of yourself were discussed in my previous article others are;

1)Enjoy a special evening with your spouse:
When a couple has a child, they stop focusing on one another and focus more on their child. Plan a date with simply your husband and let your kids spend some time with your trusted relative or their grandparents.

2) Eat healthily
This is very essential. Most moms skip food, especially when they have so many chores and so they pick on any snack they see around. However, any mom who wishes to maintain their physical fitness and energy should eat a balanced diet. You get energy and feel satisfied for a long period when you eat nutritious food. Also, avoid eating late at night, as this might lead to weight gain.

Don’t feel guilty when you take care of yourself. It doesn’t mean you neglect your responsibilities, but rather, it gives you more energy to properly take care of your family.

This discussion will continue in my next article

Bye!
