At tender ages, our kids are raw and fresh, and like clay in the hands of the potter which can be molded into desired shapes, they are in our hands to shape character into responsible adults. That is why it is been said that the home is the first school of a child.
Parents have the responsibility of first instilling good morals into their kids before they start school.
As discussed in my previous article, we discussed that we don’t handle dishonesty in children the same way, as the way it is been handled depends on their age. Some age ranges may require teaching and showing them the right thing to do or say in such situations, while some ages when you teach and show the right to do, you must also discipline them. One was discussed in my previous articles. More will be discussed here;
According to Psychologists, Kids within this age range are in their early school years, and so can purposely lie to escape punishments or responsibilities. For example; a child within this age range may lie when he/she notices that you are upset/ let down because of what he/she did or did not do well.
To handle this, you would let them know that you understand that they feel scared or ashamed of what they have done wrong, which makes them act deceitfully or tell less. Then, explain to them that everyone makes mistakes, including you, the mom. Then, go ahead to let them understand that the truth must be told at all times and in all situations, even when it feels unpleasant.
God notices your dedication to caring for your home; He will bless you accordingly. So, be joyful, for a happy mother nurtures a happy home.
“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
