Motherhood: Raising A Godly Child In An Ungodly World 12

Hello, Great Mothers!
No child is on earth by accident. Every child is a blessing from God, and so should be cherished and preserved for God. We do this by nurturing them in the way of God.

The legacy you leave in the hearts of the people you disciple and the children you nurture will be more lasting than any books you write, structures you build, or money in the bank. Jesus left no for God. written works or libraries, but he did leave people with a legacy that has endured to the present day.

God made them with a specific purpose in mind. So, guide your child to identify and achieve God’s purpose in his/her life. They ought to be assisted in identifying and achieving that goal. One of the ways to do this is to ensure you nurture your child in the way of the Lord, at his/her early stage in life.

Psalm 127: 4 says ’As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth’

Children are like wet cement, you are advised to write on them before they are dry. Therefore, teach your child the way of the Lord from an early age, teach them the right way of living before the world corrupts their minds, and shapes their lives with false (ungodly) information.

Proverbs 22:6 says: “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

The family is the first classroom of a child and the parents are the first teachers. Children develop physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually at home. Children’s moral growth is greatly influenced by the family, especially the parents. As explained in my previous article, much of this lies with the mothers, since we are always with our children because of our responsibilities to them. So, we are their first teachers, and much effort is required from us to train them in a Godly way. The process of doing this has been discussed in my previous article.

The dangers of not training a child in the ways of the Lord will be discussed in my next article. Watch out!
