Motherhood; Spending Quality Time With Your Child 4

Hello Great Mothers! Children are fun to be with. Bringing ourselves down to their levels to chat and play with them daily deepens the love between us, makes them trust us, and be open to us. This openness is very important. It becomes more significant when they grow into teenagers. Studies show that teenagers are freer and more open to adults they can trust. They trust us when we connect to them from childhood. This connection builds and strengthens the relationship between us from our childhood. However, as they grow into teenagers, they will be free with us and open up to us about their fears, desires, worries, and aspirations. Hence, we will be able to guide them right, and they will listen and follow our guidance because they have learned to trust us over the years.

We have discussed some ways we can adopt to spend quality time with our children in my previous articles. Other ways are;

1)Take your child out;
Once in a while, take your child to the park, a vacation spot, a picnic spot, a beach, or other places he/she likes. Show them new sights, and enjoy fun activities together. Disneyland and other theme parks are always great places for kids.

2)Watch television and movies together; some parents choose to completely avoid television, but that’s ok. But if you do turn on the television. Once in a while, you may choose to sit down with your child and watch their daily cartoons or offer kids-friendly movies and programs together. Sometimes, you may make it a time for bonding by popping some popcorn and ordering some pizza.

3)Put your kid’s preferences into consideration; Engage in exciting things for them as well, not just for you. It’s crucial to play with your child on their level, both literally (bend down and get on the floor!) and developmentally (use toys that are age-appropriate and don’t be afraid to act silly).

Wow! Spending quality time with our kids can be very interesting, though it needs discipline and proper planning.

Join me next time as we will be discussing the importance of, and the negative effects of not spending quality time with our kids.
