Motherhood: Spending Quality Time With Your Kids 13

Hello Great Mothers!
Every mother is a superhero. juggling between work, home responsibilities, and also creating time to connect with our kids is overwhelming. Due to office and home responsibilities, most mothers hardly find time to connect with their kids. Though most mothers desire it, it seems impossible.

In my previous article, we began the discussion on steps that a busy mom can take to create quality time for her kids. Other steps are;

1)Avoid Distractions;
Distractions are detrimental to your productivity, Additionally, they take you away from being a good mother and could sabotage your relationship with your child. Eliminating distractions from your routine is so vital. Make sure to give your task your undivided attention, whatever it may be. Although it is challenging, it’s also possible.
Also, train Teach your kids not to bother you when you are working. They will learn discipline from this, and they will be able to focus more on their work and finish within the planned time. Thereby, having more quality time to relax and connect with your kids.

2) Limit Multitasking: As a mom, you are frequently compelled to multitask, this may be as a result of many tasks to complete or because you believe that is what is expected of you as a mother. So, you find yourself managing your children, cooking, cleaning, taking a work call, etc. You are simultaneously carrying out these tasks while using all your physical strength. You may feel good about yourself and the people around may praise you for having been able to do so much within a limited time, but be warned, constant multitasking is bad for your mental health. To mention a few effects, it impairs your memory, causes stress, degrades the quality of your work, diverts your attention, and affects interpersonal relationships with your kids. Limit multitasking as much as you can and concentrate on one item at a time…

We will discuss more on what we can do as busy mothers to create time for our kids in my next article.
