Motherhood: Teaching Children How To Pray (3)

Great Mothers!

When you teach your children how to pray, you are introducing them to Jesus and building and building their relationship with God.

As discussed in the previous article that it is not enough to pray for our children, we must teach them how to pray, by praying with them and instructing them to trust and pray in every situation. We can also teach them how to pray through our own prayer life. We are their role models. Therefore, we need to teach what we practice, if not they will not take us seriously.

Also, we are encouraged to teach our children the features of effective prayer. One of them was discussed in my last article, the others are:

1)For their prayer life to be successful, they must connect with God”s will for their lives. God has a purpose for our children’s lives, and we must teach them to be receptive to what God is asking of them. With this, they will be able to align their prayers to the will of God for their lives.

3 Pray with the scriptures
If we use the Bible as our guide when praying, we will see more of our prayers being answered because it is the plain expression of God’s words. Praying with the scripture means speaking the mind of God into the situation we are praying about. And because the word of God is God Himself, there will be a result.

4) Share your Testimonies with them

Sharing the answers to your prayers with your children will motivate, strengthen and help them to be fervent in prayer. Also, we should encourage them to share their testimony. Nothing can be compared to the joy on a young child’s face when their request is granted!
