MOTHERHOOD: TYPES OF MOTHERS 4 The Me- First mother

Hello Great Mothers! Welcome to today’s article. We have been discussing the various types of mothers available. This will help us to know our personality as mothers, and how it contributes to our children’s development, physically and psychologically.

We are all aware that our children learn from our character. According to psychologists, children from age 0 to 8 take in what they see and hear from us. These shape and build them, and they start exhibiting what they take in from age 9, this eventually makes them who they become in adulthood.

However, because we mothers spend more time with our kids, it is pertinent that we know our personality type as Mothers, so that we will know how it affects our children. This will help us to change when we need to.

In my previous article, we discussed ‘the beat friend Mother’. This set of mothers tends to see their children as best friends and treat them as such. They also tend to dress like their children to win their approval. This has its effect on their kids as it makes them start seeing themselves as adults at an early age, and in turn, start behaving as one.

In this article, we will be discussing the fourth type of Mother; The Me- First Mother.
This category of Mothers
● Put themselves first. This may be a result of anxieties and a craving for acceptance.
● Always want their viewpoint to take precedence.
● Want things to be done their way at all times.
● May get very emotional when their decisions are not considered first.

Children of such mothers;
● Tends to do everything to suit their mother.
● Find it hard to make decisions on their own. This is because they wouldn’t want to make decisions that would be against their mother’s wish.
● Are very supportive and loyal to their mother and others
● Are great problem solvers.

I hope this article has been helpful. Please do share your thoughts.

Bye!
