Motherhood: When You Feel Unseen And Unappreciated As A Mother 7

Hello Great Mothers!

Mothers make a great impact on the lives of everyone in the home. This may be due to the responsibilities of mothers in the home. These responsibilities are time-consuming, energy-consuming, and resource-intensive. She keeps the home together. She looks after everyone in the house and makes sure they are happy.

To accomplish these responsibilities, a mother has to give all herself to her family. By giving it all, she also wants some love in return. She longs to be cared for. She has needs and expects her loved ones to assist her in meeting those needs. As she takes care of her loved one, she expects some appreciation, because this makes her feel valued. But oftentimes, no one seems to notice her feelings, and so she feels unappreciated and often neglected.

However, she frequently feels neglected because no one in the family notices that she also requires care or has needs. Or she was expected to be able to take care of her own needs, after all, she takes care of others. This makes a mother feel invisible and unappreciated. So much has been said in my previous article about what we can do as mothers when we feel this way.

When mothers feel this way, we must take the steps discussed in my previous articles. This is because leaving it unattended can hurt both us and the home. Check out how such emotions affect us in the video below.

It Impacts Your Self-Esteem and Self-Worth

Being appreciated makes you feel important and recognized. A woman feels inadequate and undervalued when she is not appreciated. This causes her to doubt her abilities, usefulness in the home, and value. This alters her perception of herself. This can set off a chain of emotional and behavioral changes. This could put a strain on her relationship with her husband and children. This may eventually have an impact on peace at home.
