‎NAFDAC Seals Illegal Herbal Plant In Kaduna

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has closed an unauthorized herbal medicine manufacturing site in Kaduna State.

The site, SHIFA’UNNUR, is situated in Mararaba Jos, Igabi Local Government Area. Mr. Shamsuddeen Mani, NAFDAC’s Principal Regulatory Officer who headed the operation, stated that the facility was shut for not meeting minimum operational requirements and operating without proper registration, in violation of established regulations.

“We acted swiftly based on credible intelligence and cracked down on an illegal herbal medicine facility in Mararaba Jos. It’s alarming that all the equipment used in the unhygienic and hidden setup were substandard. These products pose serious health risks as their safety, quality, and efficacy cannot be guaranteed,” Mani said.

He further mentioned that unregistered products valued at N5 million were confiscated and will be destroyed, with the facility remaining closed pending further investigation. Mani stressed that NAFDAC, authorized by law to protect public health, will continue to target violators and address all forms of regulatory non-compliance.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
