Nottingham Forest Sack Coach Postecoglou After Chelsea Defeat

Ange Postecoglou has been dismissed from his role as Nottingham Forest manager after managing just eight matches, with the announcement coming mere minutes following the team’s 3–0 home loss to Chelsea.

In a concise statement shared on X, the club declared: “Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that after a series of disappointing results and performances, Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties as head coach with immediate effect. The club will make no further comment at this time.”

Owner Evangelos Marinakis reportedly departed from his seat at the City Ground prior to the final whistle, and the official confirmation of Postecoglou’s sacking arrived soon after the match concluded.

The Australian manager had been hired only on September 9, coming off his Europa League victory with Tottenham earlier this year. Yet, a catastrophic beginning, featuring zero wins and six losses across eight fixtures, ultimately doomed him, positioning him as Forest’s third managerial departure this season.

Postecoglou seemed composed yet resolute during his pre-match press conference on Friday, October 17, stating: “If I’m given time at a club, it always ends with me and a trophy.”

Nottingham Forest’s dismal streak of results has positioned them close to the foot of the Premier League standings, prompting the club to now desperately seek a successor.

Early reports indicate that ex-Burnley and Everton manager Sean Dyche ranks among the top contenders to step in.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
