Obasanjo’s Words Gave Me Hope In The Country – Lamido

According to Alh. Sule Lamido, a former governor of Jigawa State, former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has reaffirmed his faith in the country despite the appalling situation in which the country finds itself.

In a weekend visit with Obasanjo at his Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Pent House house in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, Lamido said the former president strengthen his hopes for the country’s future

According to a statement issued on Sunday by Kehinde Akinyemi, Special Assistant to the former President on Media, former governor Obasanjo stated that he was still committed to seeing that Nigeria was lifted out of its current predicament.

Lamido, who had earlier said that the country is bleeding, has stated that his encounter with the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo has strengthened his confidence in the country.

“How do we remain safe is the biggest problem and challenge now in this country because now, nobody is safe again. Imagine, kidnapping three workers of Baba, a former President of the country? Who is safe again?” Alh. Sule Lamido cried.

In a statement, the former governor stated that he had been to visit his father and leader and his everything after a very long time, saying that he had found him, Olusegun Obasanjo, in a very high state of spirit and good health.

“But, he told me that he’s now aging and I responded that he’s not because we still need him in this country. And he said, Sule, I will do anything for Nigeria. That is very inspiring. That is why I like him and this reinforces my faith in country-my Nigeria,” he said.

“We discussed a number of issues, particularly on Nigeria, that he so loved. Honestly, no matter how down we go, we’ll rise again. But it is bleeding now. It is bleeding,” Lamido complained.
