Martins Honest Garando, a 30-year-old man, was murdered by suspected cultists in Sagbama town, Sagbama Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.

After a violent conflict between opposing cult gangs competing for power and control of the town on Wednesday, March 9, the deceased was murdered.

Last year in July, the deceased, Mr. Honest married one Mrs. Belepeigha Gloria Oyins. The bride, who was pregnant at the time of the marriage, recently gave birth to a newborn baby, though it is unclear if they had any other children before the wedding.

According to the Nigerian Tribune, the killer cult group broke into the deceased’s home at around 1.30 a.m., pulled him out, chopped off his head, and took it away with them.

The perpetrators hung the decapitated head on an electric pole for the community’s indigenes to see.
