Matthew 22:1-14

Watch out for what you wish for! It’s a timeless warning that resonates through history. Just look at Jephthah! He boldly vowed to the Lord that he would sacrifice the first person to greet him after battle. Imagine his shock when it turned out to be his daughter! Heartbroken yet resolute, he honored his vow.

Now, shift gears to the gospel—what a dazzling display of generosity it showcases! A king invites a multitude to his grand banquet, starting with those first on the guest list, yet others come pouring in. But, oh, the mix of attitudes! Some just don’t take the host seriously. It begs the question: how seriously do you take your promises?

How devoted are you to your calling?

God is throwing the ultimate banquet, and guess what? Everyone is invited! Each one of us is a treasure in His eyes. Just like a shepherd won’t abandon even a single sheep, or a jeweler would never forsake a precious diamond, God will never lose a single one of His cherished people.

Yet, it’s intriguing how many around us respond lukewarmly to this divine invitation. Those we expect to be eager might just be turning down the chance to dine at the table of abundance! But here’s the thing: God’s generosity won’t be held back. Every single one of us is called, but not all are ready to accept. Sadly, many overlook this incredible gift. It’s not God’s decision; it’s ours.

No matter how small we might feel, if we belong to the Lord, we can celebrate—safeguarded in the love of Jesus Christ! Join the feast and revel in the joy of being cherished!

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution.”
