Same Stock! Same Authority!

Hebrews 2:5-12
Mark 1:21-28

What is mortal man that you care for him? says the psalmist .

Dearly beloved in Christ, we humans are designed to be the summit and fulfillment of creation. We were created in the image and likeness of God. Only God’s love is unwavering, ever-present, and has nothing but our best interests at heart, even when the demons of past hurts and suffering arise and even with all our scars and imperfections. So, despite how insignificant and unworthy I can feel, I need to sit in prayer and simply let God love me so that his power and authority can be felt in my life. The question that comes through is; do I acknowledge the authority of God under which I live and serve? Do I believe in the power of God that is ready to remove the works of the evil within us and bring us to eternal salvation?

In Christ, our personal failure could be the start of a new direction for us, and our experience of sin can enable us to appreciate the gift of forgiveness and spiritual rebirth. As we welcome God’s word into our lives today and always may we be refreshed with his miraculous healing power and may be bestowed with the graces to serve him better among his people. Amen

Be God’s holy servant, God has put us in charge.
