Sean “Diddy” Combs Sentenced To 50 Months In Prison For Prostitution-Related Charges

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been sentenced to 50 months in prison—over four years—by a judge in New York City for two prostitution-related charges. Alongside his prison term, Combs has been ordered to complete five years of supervised release and pay a hefty fine of $500,000.

This ruling follows Combs’ conviction just three months prior, during which he was cleared of more serious charges, including s*x trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. Prosecutors had sought a stiffer sentence of over 11 years, while Combs’ defense argued for a mere 14 months, noting his time already served since his arrest in September 2024.

The aftermath of this sentencing resonated beyond the courtroom. An attorney representing singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, who shared a decade-long relationship with Combs and whose testimony was pivotal in his conviction, issued a powerful statement.

“While nothing can undo the trauma caused by Combs, today’s sentence acknowledges the profound impact of his serious offenses,” the attorney remarked.

“We believe that surrounded by her family and friends, Ms. Ventura will continue her healing journey, drawing strength from her courage and resilience.”

As he wrapped up the proceedings, the judge took a moment to address two women who bravely testified against Combs.

He expressed deep empathy for their experiences, stating, “You’ve been through abuse that many of us can’t fathom. We heard you.” Judge Arun Subramanian acknowledged their bravery and the pride their families must feel, emphasizing that their stories, once hidden in shame, were now brought to light.

In delivering Combs’ sentence, Judge Subramanian also recognized his influence as a “self-made artist” who has uplifted communities around the globe and contributed to charitable causes in New York City. Yet, he highlighted the weight of the evidence against Combs, describing it as “massive,” with graphic details that exposed the severity of the crimes, including disturbing footage concerning Cassie.

The judge underscored the importance of deterrence in his decision, stating that the defense’s proposed sentence of 14 months was simply insufficient. Combs, in his own reflection, admitted that the burden of his actions would weigh heavily on him for life. He candidly shared, “I make no excuse because I knew better,” attributing his past behavior to being “sick on drugs” and “out of control.”

With emotion evident in his voice, Combs expressed how the allegations have shattered his reputation and cost him dearly in both business and personal life. “I’ve been humbled and broken to my core,” he lamented. “I hate myself right now.” In a heartfelt 12-minute speech, he affirmed his “full accountability and responsibility,” leaving an indelible mark on all who listened.
