Show The Mercy Of God To Others

Nehemiah 8:1-12
Luke 10:1-12

the Lord Jesus entrusted to Sister Faustina a mission for all humanity: to make known again God’s merciful love towards every human being, to pass on a new form of worship of God’s mercy, and to inspire a movement of renewal in the spirit of evangelical trust in God’s mercy for mankind.

In her Diary, titled ‘Divine Mercy in My Soul’, we see her encounter with Our Lord and that union with God is possible fir all of us at each moment. The Diary encourages us to live an intensive interior life and how to master the difficult art of love of one’s neighbor. Christ told her” You are my secretary of my mercy. I have chosen you for this office in this life and the next”.

Our Lord also added, ‘ If, through you, I am demanding reverence for my mercy, you should be the first to distinguish yourself by this trust in my mercy. I demand from you deeds of mercy, which are to flow from love for me. You are to show mercy to your neighbors always and everywhere, you cannot draw back from this, nor try to excuse or absolve yourself from it’. In other words, her calling was not only to make known the mercy of God to mankind but practice mercy towards others herself.

In today’s gospel, Jesus says, “I am sending you like lambs among wolves.”
There are political and religious divisions on every side. And yet, Jesus also says, “The kingdom of God is at hand.”So how do we recognize the kingdom of God when all we see around us points in a different direction? According to Jesus, we do this by blessing others, and by being merciful. And if they do not accept the blessing? Do we curse them? In other words, be a missionary and promoter of mercy.

If you, O Lord should mark our guilt: Lord who will stand Psalm 130:3
Let us therefore learn how to depend on God’s word and not on ourselves or the sign that we see or are expecting. May Saint Faustina help us through her intercession to be merciful to others just as our Heavenly Father is merciful to us.

Merciful Jesus, we trust in you. Have mercy on us and the whole world.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
