Comr. Nwokeji Uchenna Sunday (KSJI, CNA), a humanitarian, human rights activist, and Chairman of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), FUTO, has vowed to speak out for people’s freedom constantly in order to firmly advance their cause, rights, privileges, and needs for improved well-being, peace, comfort, and the edification of society.
The SSANU Chairman of FUTO made the promise during a press conference with journalists after receiving the Rotary Club of Owerri Royals’ prestigious “Leadership Icon Award” during the Club’s installation of its third president, Rtn Winifred Chxinonye Osuigwe, which took place last Saturday at the Renton Hotel and Suites in Owerri.
In addition to being the Chairman of SSANU, Imo State; Chairman of the Joint Action Congress; Chairman of the FUTO Council; Member of the National Executive Council of SSANU; and President of the Owerri People’s Club, Nwokeji declared that he would always take a brave stance in support of the freedom and rights of those who have been marginalized in society in order to free them from oppression and harm.
Nwokeji urged people to always stand tall in defending themselves against oppression, repression, and servitude. He mentioned that he had received several dignified medals for his humanitarian activities, doggedness to the truth, effective community service, and defense of the vulnerable everywhere.
He claimed that receiving the Award would constantly motivate him to step up his advocacy, humanitarian efforts, and good deeds for people and society.
“I feel happy and I believe the Medal of Honor will greatly inspire me to do more charity work to people and the society. Also, I will always be an upright comrade – to continue to speak the truth – for the freedom of the people, not for their mercy – because when you shout for mercy you have surrendered – but when you stand for freedom – one day, God will come for your rescue. The Awards I receive from people meritoriously make me to be stronger to do humanitarian works and I call on wealthy persons out there to extend help to people around their community to enable them assuage economic hardship, poverty and vulnerability”, Nwokeji maintained.
Sir Nwokeji is a great leader who consistently advocates for the people. He has a track record of serving the public well in his capacity as FUTO chairman, and we wish him luck in all of his undertakings. We also exhort others to do their best in standing up for people.
Live with Purpose, Love with Passion. Remember to be happy
