Teenager Sentenced To 20yrs In Prison For Torturing 7-year-old To Death

A Wisconsin teen who was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the death of his 7-year-old relative  Ethan Hauschultz, who was beaten and tortured for allegedly not knowing Bible verses.

The accused, who was sentenced in 2018 is now 17 years old. He pleaded guilty in June to a count of first degree negligent murder. Other charges of child abuse and substantial battery were dismissed. After serving his jail term, the juvenile will be kept under extended surveillance for another 19 years.

Manitowoc County Circuit Court Judge Jerilyn Dietz said, “My goal is to make sure that you have enough time to mature and grow, to work on education, work on treatment, work on controlling that angry side.” imprisoned for.”

Ms Dietz sentenced the accused as an adult on Thursday.

The teenager’s father, Timothy Hauschultz, reportedly ordered victim Ethan Hauschultz to be punished for not knowing 13 Bible verses. He asked his son, who was then 14 years old, to be punished. The Hoschultz family were court-appointed guardians for Ethan.

The boy’s sentence was to carry a log around a path for two hours a day for a week, which was monitored by the accused. According to the criminal complaint, Ethan “struggled to carry his log” and the accused “struck, kicked, poked and struck Ethan about 100 times.”

The accused allegedly stood on Ethan’s “body and head” while he was face to face in a puddle. He then buried Ethan in “80 pounds of packed snow,” where he was left “without a coat or shoes for about 20 to 30 minutes.” The minor died of hypothermia and suffered other extensive injuries, the complaint read.

The child’s mother, Andrea Everett, said the accused was “out of excuse” for the sentencing.

“I hear people in this courtroom blaming your parents for why you killed my son, I’ve heard people talk about the trauma you went through. We are all traumatized. But that doesn’t mean we brutally kill a 7-year-old,” said Ms. Everett.

Mr. Hoschultz faced trial in December on eight charges, while his wife, Tina McKeever-Hoschultz, was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to failure to prevent major bodily harm.
