The Act Of Humility

Romans 11:1-2,11-12,25-29
Luke 14:1,7-11

It is Humility that makes men saints. For, every act of humility involves dying to self and pride. Every act of courage involves dying to cowardice. Every act of love involves dying to selfishness. It is by dying to the false self that the true self, made in God’s image is found.
When you are invited to an occasion do you place yourself or sit in a place of honor (what we conveniently call v.i.p seat or high table) before you are being placed by those who incited you? Humility is the queen of all virtues. A virtue that tells us that before God all of us are equal and the same. In other words, humility is acknowledging that we are all dependent on God’s grace. Pride goes before a fall whereas humility and sacrifice are the essence of true love. Therefore, am I a shameless self-promoter, always focused on being numero uno? Am I getting myself to the Number One position as much as possible in an ungodly manner? What kind of personality do I have? Remember. Our God has the power to do whatever he wills, and He can raise the lowly from the dust. Humility is the foundation of true leadership. It is the ladder to divine understanding. Humble yourself before God’s sight. James 4:10. Anyone who humbled himself will be exalted.

“A lot of companies have chosen to downsize, and maybe that was the right thing for them. We chose a different path. Our belief was that if we kept putting great products in front of customers, they would continue to open their wallets.”
